You could ask the vendor if they support running it in KVM/QEMU, and what the requirement would be. There are also software vendors who build (undocumented) checks into their software to disable running it on virtual hardware, sometimes because of licensing, sometimes because of support. Although you pass through 1 device, there still is a virtualization layer in between Windows and the actual (rest of the) hardware.
